This year the BSSA is asking members to join in with our 'A Cuppa for a Copper' campaign to help mark World Sjögren's Day. The idea is to help raise funds for the BSSA by putting a copper (other coins are more than welcome) into an empty coffee jar every time you make a drink.
Last year the BSSA and other groups around the world celebrated the 23rd July as World Sjögren's Day to raise awareness into the disease. The previous 'Have a Cuppa' campaign was marked with members and regional groups getting together with friends and family to raise a mug in aid of Sjögren's Syndrome. The day was very successful and a lot of interest was created. The date is significant because it commemorates the birthday of Henrik Sjögren who in 1933 first identified the disease.
