In October the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) released the first ever National Giving Week DVD, the BSSA was featured on the DVD with a three minute film. The film showed members talking about Sjögren's Syndrome and the effects it has on their lives. The DVD was designed to communicate directly with the general public, British industry and the voluntary sector. 200,000 DVDs were produced in conjunction with a supporting website. The 12 month publicity campaign was launched in October 2006, with pre-launch press release activity in the period running up to this. The aim was to reach 8 million people with up-to-the-minute advice and information from the Government, tax experts, specialist advisors, celebrity interviews and case studies.

National Giving Week, 3rd week in October, was the focus of a campaign in the UK aimed at raising public awareness of giving. Under the banner "Making a difference", Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) would have been working with donors and companies to identify the best ways to give effectively, with maximum positive impact and to more regular and tax efficient giving to charity as part of everyday life. |

The BSSA felt that the DVD would not only increase income but also raise awareness to Sjögren's Syndrome as the DVD would be seen by a wide range of people who we would find it very hard to access otherwise.
